The in-memory snap has a ‘Single Document Output’ setting. It would be helpful if this setting could be added to the Join Snap for left outer joins.
This would be helpful in cases where the join is a “confirmation” that a match exists in a one-to-many relationship between two datastreams, where actually doing a one-to-many join isn’t valuable. The workaround is to do filtering after the join to remove excess documents that result from the join, which takes a fair bit of jumping through hoops sometimes.
To get enhancements to the list for consideration, submit them through your account managers or support.
Thanks Diane. I’ll do this, but please clarify the purpose of this “Enhancement Requests” category if the response is going to be “To get enhancements to the list for consideration, submit them through your account managers or support”. Seems like this category is useless and a waste of time.
From the summary of the category on the main page:
Discuss enhancements ideas here. Product management will review this category for consideration. The submitting of feature requests still needs to go through your account manager or Support.
We set this up as a sounding board area for folks to run ideas past other customers to get feedback as ideas that benefit multiple customers often have a stronger case for implementation.
Regardless of what’s on the main page summary, it’s not customer friendly.
We’ll look at how else we can clarify it.
When feature requests are submitted, there is usually additional information collected regarding how important the feature is to you, when you would need it, impact to your business, etc. that customers may not want to be public knowledge for business reasons, which is why we recommend going through support or your account manager.
