Marking Threads as Resolved in the Community
We have enabled the option to mark a thread as Resolved. The limitations are: only the person that started the thread can mark a response as a solution. only one post can be marked as a resolution even if there is more than one way to do something. To mark something as a resolution, look for the little checkbox icon near the heart icon within the response. Once selected, the response is marked as the solution. When viewing the list of topics, a checkmark appears in front of the topic title. If you marked a post in error, just click on it again or click on another response if that is what you intended to do.3.6KViews2likes5CommentsCommunity: How Activity Summary Emails Work
What is an Activity Summary email? The “Activity Summary” is an email sent out to members of the SnapLogic Communitywho haven’t logged in within a specific period with a collection of the most popular content since their last visit. The email includes the following: Some activity statistics to emphasize activity levels A list of the most popular topics A selection of the most popular posts Links of topics that are “New for you” The Activity Summary is sent only when the member has not logged into the Community, or been sent an email from the Community in the last week. This email will continue to be sent out until the user logs in again (at which point the counter is rest) or until one year since the user last logged in (when the account is treated as abandoned). User Options Individual users have the ability to determine some of what is included and how often they receive it. A user can go to Preferences from the menu under their user icon in the upper right and do the following: Under Emails : change the mailing frequency uncheck the box to set the frequency to never to allow content from new users to be included1.2KViews0likes0CommentsCommunity: How we use tags
Tags are used in this platform to help supply keywords for searches and filters. We encourage the use of tags to capture the details of your topic, such as product area or specific Snaps. Tags always end up in lowercase, with spaces replaced by underscores. You can see the list of tags in use by selecting Tags from the hamburger menu in the upper right. Suggested Tags Snap names Features or Functions: pipeline, manager, etc. showcase: use when you want to share a pipeline you built Reserved Tags The following tags are for use with specific topic types: pattern: This is only to be used by SnapLogic for the pipelines that SnapLogic has vetted and incorporated into the SnapLogic Cloud Pattern Catalog. sample_pipeline: This should be used if a pipeline is included in a post. release: This is used for the quarterly release announcement community_info: Topics that explain how our Community works. Did you know we have badges within the Community? It hasn’t always been the most obvious thing in this site, but we’re working to improve that. Badges serve as recognition for milestones individual contributors reach within the Community. To see the list of badges available, select Badges from the hamburger menu in the upper right. Click on the individual title to see how it’s achieved and who currently has that badge. Most came default with the platform, but we’re looking to expand this list. If you have ideas for badges, list them below. To see which badges you’ve earned, click on your avatar to get to your profile, then go to Badges tab. To highlight how awesome you all are to the Community, we added a plugin that displays certain badges next to your name in a post. Right now it is displaying First Year Top Contributors, Enthusiasts (visited 10 consecutive days), and New User of the Month (outstanding contributions in their first month). You can mouse over the icon to see what the badge is. The list will change over time as more are added and better icons replace existing one.1.9KViews0likes0CommentsFormatting Code Samples in Community
If you need to include code blocks in your posts, formatting them properly makes it easier for all to read. If you post JSON as straight text, you get something like this: [ { “Contacts”: [ “First”, “Last”, “Street”, “City”, “Zip” ] } ] When in edit mode, you see indents, but they don’t carry over to the published topic. Markdown formatting uses three backticks ``` to enclose code blocks. You can type them before your code snippet and after to get the code formatting. [ { "Contacts": [ "First", "Last", "Street", "City", "Zip" ] } ] Alternately, you select your code snippet and use the preformatted text option in the toolbar ( </>) to get another type of formatting: [ { "Contacts": [ "First", "Last", "Street", "City", "Zip" ] } ] Either option makes it easier for others to read code snippets.1.5KViews2likes0CommentsChange to new user access to the Community site
Until we can look into SSO for access, we’ve decided to switch from an invitation-only method of access to an approval-based system. Now anyone can ask to join the site, but we will have to approve them before they enter. At this time, we are still only allowing existing SnapLogic customers in. For existing Community users, you may receive a secondary approval email as we re-approve you under the new access process. We apologize for any confusion.1.4KViews0likes0CommentsOpening Links in Community Posts in a New Tab
