Hello,
Can you confirm if the account was a Sandbox account by any chance? If so, it will fail with the same error and we can enable the Sandbox checkbox.
On the flip side, you can also try copying your salesforce URL and replacing it in the login URL on Account and give it a try on validation.
In my case, the url is https://d2v000002akwdeao-dev-ed.my.salesforce.com/ - dimitar_jovanovNew Contributor
Account was not Sandbox. Problem is present with new Salesforce Dev Orgs.
I contacted one of my colleagues and he created for me new user in his, older, dev org. And everything is working.
