Unable to connect to My SQL DB hosted in local

When you use SnapLogic, the execution takes place on a Snaplex. If you are using a Snaplex located on your local machine, it should be able to connect. If you are using a Cloudplex, like the one in the SnapLogic free trial, you will not be able to connect to resources in you local environment unless they are reachable form the internet located Snaplex. If you have a Groundplex executing locally this may be feasible. Which are you using?

I am using the snaplex located at in Cloud (trial version) and as you rightly stated that would be reason behind the connectivity issue. Thanks for the clarification.
