Assuming that best practice would be to have a service account to run all tasks, instead of having them attached (run by) a specific user. It would be great to have the option to change the ownership of tasks created in SnapLogic. This would facilitate task administration.
I tried doing this using the SnapLogic metadata snaps, but looks like there are some bugs that are blocking those from being used. I filed some defects for the bugs and I’ll ask around if there is another way to accomplish this.
I don’t think you can change the owner of an individual task, but you should be able to change the owner of the enclosing project using the Permissions dialog in the Manager, see here.
SO if you change the owner of the project, will it also change the owner of the tasks?
Doh! Sorry, no it won’t change the owner of the tasks, my bad. There’s definitely a gap here, the execution runs as the owner of the task when it probably should run as the project owner. We’ll investigate.
