Cannot connect to MySQL on AWS RDS

I've setup a MySQL server on AWS RDS and I am able to connect to it from MySQL Workbench and setup a database and table with data. I am trying to connect to the account from SnapLogic below using the MySQL Database Account and am receiving errors below.

"Failed to validate account: Failed to retrieve a database connection. Cause: Could not create connection to database server. (Reason: Could not create connection to database server.; Resolution: Address the reported issue.)"

Apparently v8 is not supported, so I went to v5 of MySQL
