In the August release Tableau connectors have been enhanced to include support for the hyper format via the new Tableau Hyper Snaps - Hyper Formatter, Hyper Parser and Hyper Writer.
Hyper is Tableau’s new in-memory data engine technology designed for fast data ingest and analytical query processing on large or complex data sets. The new Snap allows users to automate the interactions with Tableau extract ( .hyper) files.
